About what we do

We have been called a Homestead, a small farm, a market garden, a cottage business, and a vegetable producer but basically we just do stuff, keep what we want and sell the rest.

Our Homestead.

Our Family Feeding Your Family

LEA Farm is a family-operated vegetable farm that also produces many other homestead products.

We began our journey as gardeners wanting to feed our large family with healthier choices. As we grew to a fully operating farm, we could feed other families in the area. Tractors replaced tillers, we built three greenhouses, added an irrigation system from our pond, and developed a flock of chickens and ducks. Our ducks act as pest control in the field, and chickens produce fertilizer. The woods behind the pond (that the grandchildren love to fish in) provide compost material. Our produce is heritage varieties grown without pesticides or harmful chemicals.

We grow many seasonal products and salad products year-round. Delivery is available to restaurants and individuals for minimum orders. We are in the market for direct sales one day a week during harvest seasons.

Vegetables

We grow a selection of seasonal vegetables available at various times of the year. These changes are dependent on harvest time or selling out quickly. Year-round, we grow salad greens and salad mix for local restaurants.

Farm-Fresh Eggs

Our chickens are free-range and do not use chemicals to enhance them. We breed and hatch our own Barred Rock chicks to prevent outside contamination.

Ducks run free in our vegetables to function as pest control because we do not use pesticides. Commercial bakeries love to use duck eggs in baking for creamier products.

Bakery

When we have time, we bake various delicious and creative products. We also take special orders to be delivered.

Pantry

Depending on the season and quantity available, we make canned vegetables, soup starters, pickled products, and dehydrated herbs.

Non-Food Items

Craft items and collectables are always a big part of a homestead life. You have to be creative and able to make a lot of your own things to be self-sufficient. We grow gourds for crafts. These items can be shipped.
